I do have more of these but the listing is for each individual piece. They are in good condition with no chips or cracks.
I will be offering many more pieces in the days ahead, so if you are a Blue Danube collector, please keep checking back!
History: The Blue Danube pattern was inspired by the designs of the Chinese Yuan Dynasty period (1260-1368 A.D.). The flowers in the pattern represent the ancient Chinese symbols of good fortune and happiness. The original pattern has been produced for more than 200 years and was the inspiration for the Blue Danube China. This china pattern is one of the most complete dinnerware patterns sold in the United States and has over one hundred pieces available.
This line is no longer in production so any that you find is one of the pieces produced since 1951. This is a beautiful pattern, under glazed on translucent porcelain. Each piece is under glazed and fired at temperatures of 2600 degrees which makes the piece highly chip resistant. It is dishwasher safe, detergent proof and microwave safe and most importantly, lead free. Several of the pieces are designated as oven safe up to 500 degrees.
Blue Danube has several backstamps with the oldest being the ribbon banner with the words Blue Danube in script and including the words Reg. US. Pat. Off. underneath. The rectangular backstamp dates from 1977-1996. The latest backstamp has script words Blue Danube and a swirl decorative line or frame around them. They also had one commemorating their 50th anniversary for their 1951-2001 pieces.
Blue Danube china was produced in Japan.
